Ascom, an international solution provider, have recently invested in Microsoft DynamicsTM AX (formerly Axapta) for their Wireless Solutions division. The system has already been installed in the Danish subsidiary and now the work will begin to implement DynamicsTM AX in a further 7 countries. This recent order represents a value of approximately 3 million Euros in software licenses and consulting services to Watermark, a Pan-European Microsoft Dynamics partner.
When Ascom was facing the challenge of harmonizing its business processes using one common ERP system, the choice was between Microsoft DynamicsTM AX and Microsoft DynamicsTM NAV – formerly Navision. The main reason for this decision was that DynamicsTM AX has a totally integrated solution for all processes at Ascom Wireless Solutions including support Service Management.
“We knew that we wanted a solution from Microsoft. While we were in the selection phase we looked at the systems we were already using at Ascom and found that Microsoft’s solutions were most adaptable to our business”, said Lennart Karlsson, Managing Director of Ascom Tateco AB.
Microsoft DynamicsTM AX also had support for the service management processes, which are vitally important for Ascom. “The implementation in Denmark has been carried out successfully and we are now ready to roll out the solution to the remaining countries”, stated Mats Ekelund, Managing Director at Watermark AB.
After implementation in Denmark, work will soon begin in Norway, followed by France, Belgium, UK, The Netherlands, US and Sweden.
