Independent jury and public agree: Provant is “best Belgian website powered by a content management system”
Tridion, the recognized European leader in content management solutions, today congratulated its customer Provincie Antwerpen on being voted “the best website in Belgium” by a jury of independent experts and members of the public. The Provincie who uses Tridion’s market leading web content management software, was chosen as the clear winner from amongst the 35 entrants for the CMS-Award 2006, presented last night at the prestigious eight annual “CMS Awards Dinner” event in Brussels.
New website implementations based on a content management system were judged by an expert jury against four criteria – Best Design/Lay-out, Best Navigation/Structure, Best Content and Best Search Engine Optimalization (SEO)– and then short-listed as award nominees. Other nominees using Tridion’s content management software were Bose and Goodyear. Since early October, the general public has been able to vote for the best site via the CMS-Channel website.
Provant.be is the overall winner and came top in the 8 categories. The organization, that covers 70 services and institutions ranging from schools and sporting infrastructures to parks and museums, developed its new Tridion-powered website to offer one website to cover all services and institutions. This way the Provincie wants to provide the public with a unique entrance point to all information the Provincie has to offer.
Anja Neels, Head of Communications Provinciebestuur van Antwerpen commented: “We are very pleased with this Award. It proves that a public organization can compete with private organizations on the internet. We choose specifically for a very sober website with al functionalities; a choice that is rewarded by the public and the jury of experts. The award is also recognition for all those who worked together with us to make this project a success.”
